Open to God Series.

Sunday 7th January sees us begin our first preaching series for the year. "Open to God" is a series of opportunities each Sunday to participate in the richness of congregational worship. Each person has the opportunity to share and give testimony to the working of God in their lives and bring worship to God in unique ways. Each Sunday there will be an opportunity to hear the Word of God preached as one off topical messages that are both engaging and practical.

We look forward to sharing these special times with you.

The Gospel - Two Ways to Live

In a day of depressing headlines and uncertainty all around us, good news is very welcome. What better news could there be than as the old hymn says: “The vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives?” When Christians refer to the “Gospel” they are referring to the “good news” that Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for our sin so that we might become the children of God through faith alone in Christ alone. In short, “the Gospel” is the sum total of the saving truth as God has communicated it to lost humanity as it is revealed in the person of His Son and in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible.

Welcome to the Harehills Lane Baptist Church Worship and Word blog for the whole of 2018. In this blog there is a whole years worth of planning and vision for our Sunday Morning Worship Services. Nine Preaching Series that take us Sunday by Sunday through the year with updates as we go along. Also you will find week by week details of passages and books from God's Word that we will be studying, alongside the main themes.

PREACHING
Each of the messages from our Sunday Worship will be posted on the main H.L.B.C website www.hlbc.org.uk. and will also be found under each of the series tabs on this site. If you are unable to get to morning worship for any reason you can always listen at home by accessing the message here on this blog or on the main website.

ENCOURAGEMENT
We are also providing a number of general web resources that will encourage Bible Study, Prayer, Personal Devotions, and Worship. As well as this you can find family resources, Youtube media, radio and T.V resources as well. There are resources for small groups as well. Hopefully this will be a great launchpad for growing and learning, discovery and study.
